Before you sell or part-exchange, it pays to know what your vehicle is actually worth — and that there isn't a single "value", but a range depending on how you sell.
The values that matter
- Forecourt — roughly what a dealer would advertise it for.
- Private — what you might get selling it yourself.
- Trade / part-exchange — what a dealer would offer you.
- Auction — the fast-sale figure.
What affects the number
Valuations are based on make, model, age and mileage, but the final price you achieve depends on condition, service history and where you're selling. A full service history and lower mileage push the figure up.
